LMK Mobile Mechanic Services prefers to source and install high-quality parts that meet our safety and performance standards.

If you as a  Customer requests to provide your own parts for a repair, the following conditions apply:

​

• No Warranty on Parts: LMK Mobile Mechanic Services provides absolutely no warranty on any parts supplied by the Customer. 

​

​

• Should a customer-supplied part fail, any labor required to remove and replace that part will be charged at our standard hourly rate. 

​

• Fitment and Compatibility: The Customer is solely responsible for ensuring the part is correct for their vehicle’s make, model, and VIN. 

​

•  If the mechanic arrives and the part is incorrect, damaged, or incomplete, a service call-out fee will still be charged for the time spent on-site. 

​

• Labor-Only Warranty: Our standard labor warranty applies only to the physical installation. We do not guarantee the performance or longevity of the vehicle as it relates to the quality of the provided part.

• Safety Refusal: We reserve the right to refuse the installation of any customer-supplied part that appears used, unsafe, or of inferior quality that may compromise the safety of the vehicle.

 

Why this is important:

​

1. The "Double Labor" Protection: Without this, a customer might expect you to fix the car for free if the "new" alternator they bought online dies two weeks later. 

​

 2. The "Wrong Part" Fee: It is very common for customers to buy the wrong part. This clause ensures you get paid for your drive time and the time you spent taking the car apart only to realize the part doesn't fit.

 3. Profit Margin: Many mechanics add a small markup to parts to cover the "insurance" of the warranty they provide. When a customer provides their own, you lose that margin—this policy helps justify your labor-only rates.
